Superposition Explained

Here’s a simple and clear explanation of **superposition** in quantum computing:

---

### 🌐 What is Superposition?

**Superposition** is a fundamental principle of quantum mechanics that allows a quantum bit (**qubit**) to be in **multiple states at the same time**.

In classical computing, a bit can be either:

- **0**

- **1**

But in quantum computing, a **qubit** can be:

- **0**

- **1**

- **Or any combination of both at once** (like 70% 0 and 30% 1)

This is called **superposition**.

Imagine a coin spinning in the air—it’s not just heads or tails, it's **both** until it lands. Similarly, a qubit stays in superposition until it’s measured, at which point it becomes either 0 or 1.

### 💡 Why It Matters

Superposition allows quantum computers to explore **many possible solutions at once**, making them incredibly powerful for complex problems like:

- Searching large databases

- Optimizing systems

- Simulating molecules in chemistry
